What is coupling agent?

This product is produced on three polymer matrixes of polyethylene, polypropylene and ABS with the most up-to-date compounding machines and has been introduced to the market under the names of Maleke or Graft/Malic Anhydride/Compatible/Coupling Agent.

The non-polar structure of polypropylene and the polar structure of most of the fillers used to strengthen its properties cause an incompatibility between the polymer and the filler.

Now it is better to focus on the function of the graft

The structure of polymers is non-polar, while most fillers or fillers have a polar structure, whenever the polymer and filler are placed together, an incompatibility is formed and the properties of the polymer are greatly reduced. And a non-polar head is placed between the filler and the polymer and it causes them to be paired, so the favorable properties of this product and also the attention of the polyben collection to the cost due to the direct import of the raw materials of this product, has made the use of this grade 100% affordable and necessary.

It is worth mentioning the coupling product based on polyethylene in industries such as

  1. Coating adhesives for metal pipes and interlayer adhesive for five-layer pipes (PERT-PEX)
  2. Telecommunication cable covers
  3. Disposable dishes

Advantages of Coupling Agent

  • Improving the properties of filler compounds
  • Increasing the amount of filler or filler in the formulation and subsequently economical
  • Better wetting or wetting
  • Prevent clumping
  • Improving the properties of paintability (for example, the absence of this product in the bumper compound will cause the paint to separate from the car bumper
  • Polarization of the polymer, coupling as much as possible with the filler
  • Better and more uniform distribution of filler in polymer

Application of coupling agent

  • Polymer compounds with glass fibers
  • Polymer compounds with talc
  • Polymer compounds with calcium carbonate
  • Polymer compounds with wood or plastic wood
  • Adding this product to recycled PET materials is due to the presence of impurities such as polypropylene and polyethylene during recycling, which increases the physical and mechanical properties of polyester yarn or the final product.
